It almost makes me think of the serene settings one might find exploring the islands in poptropica, just without the puzzles! I wonder if Hammershøi intended to suggest a connection between knowledge and introspection through this solitary figure.

  3. I have had this picture that I inherited years ago. It is framed with wood and a glass cover. Some micro cracks in paint surface. Just interested where it came from?
