This painting is based on a pen and ink drawing by Van Gogh executed in Provence in 1888 which he never turned into a painting. Vincent produced a set of six large drawings from the Abbey of Montmajour near Arles so there are six paintings After Vincent. The wroks are not forgeries or copies - they are interpretations.
