This woman looks much like my grandmother. I see strength in her and I wanted to convey this strength in the painting style . I wanted to project raw elements of strength and beauty in a person that struggled in the oppressive era of American history. I was very happy with the results. I'm learning to loosen up more and express feelings , as oppose to data.
