"Waiting for Spring was created during months of cold, misty mountain weather while dreaming of the green leaves of the willows. The young willow which I planted is now at least feet tall and is seen beginning to flower. The intricate curtain I made from recycled sample books and is richly embroidered by painting much embellishments of fantasy on the canvas, such as adding two Arabian horses, golden trees and a folly. Almost everything I paint is from the garden and the land here. So I literally paint from seed that which I sowed, from the ground up, having created the surroundings of garden and interiors in the house, to be able to portray life at our mountain home."
