Sheep at Rhug
I was sitting right in the middle of a high field on a hillside looking at the light in the valley below for what must have been an hour or so when I heard a slight noise behind me. I turned round quickly to find a whole bunch of sheep, thirty or so, had quietly come up behind me and were standing no more that six feet away from me. Watching. Most of them scattered instantly but four of them stayed and continued looking at me. I slowly got out my camera and took a couple of shots before they also wandered off. This whole mini episode was carried out in complete silence. I kept only two of them in this painting for compositional reasons.
