Portrait of Engelbert II, Count of Nassau 1480
by Master of the Portraits of Princes
Count Engelbert had himself portrayed with his hunting falcon, like a typical member of the nobility. His family had governed parts of Brabant for years. Engelbert served the Dukes of Burgundy in various administrative and military capacities. In 1496, Philip the Fair appointed him as his agent in the Low Countries.
