Vomiting Peasant 1535
by Sebald Beham
Medium:
Engraving
This engraving is a perfect example of Sebald Beham's interest in including graphic details in his depictions of peasant life. Beham frequently depicted the dirty side of the medieval period and nothing was too much for him; scenes of his frequently include vomiting, groping, and even defecating peasants!
