Portrait of My Wife (The Painter Anna Ancher)  1884

Ancher was clearly inspired by older Dutch art in this painting. Anna's long black dress with its lace collar and the hat with the feather decorations are reminiscent of e.g. Antonis van Dyck's portraits from the 17th century.
