Patio de la Acequia, Generalife, Granada
2015
The Patio de la Acequia is a water garden courtyard in the Palacio de Generalife, Granada, Spain. This was the summer palace and country estate of the Nasrid Emirs of Granada during the Moorish occupation. The Palace and gardens were built at the beginning of the 14th Century. Situated above the Alhambra Palace and fortifications the former rulers came to these gardens to relax. They are now a UNESCO world heritage site. The gardens with their ponds, fountains, flowerbeds and the beautiful buildings make a wonderful subject for watercolor painting.
