Eyes

We tend to think that our face and our body are symmetrical, but in reality it is not. We all have imperfections more or less evident, so that if we were to divide in half a photography of us and we tried to mirror it into two equal parts we would discover something unnatural, almost monstrous. Even in the way we use our bodies, the way we move, there is nothing of this symmetry: we don’t use the right hand in the same way we use the left one, we often move our eyes and eyebrows separately, for example to express disappointment, amazement or blame. Finally, it is possible that we ourselves want to increase these differences, with the addition of a piercing, or with makeup. In these drawings I intended to represent two different moments in the same eyesight, imagining to catch the two eyes in the act of expressing different feelings.
