Trumpeter  1575

by Jacob de Gheyn II

This boy plays the trumpet with his lips pressed to the mouthpiece and tilting up the instrument. De Gheyn did not work up the trumpeter’s attire, but placed emphasis on the banner attached to the trumpet, rendering the folds of the hanging fabric
with pen and brush.
