Today we are excited to announce the pilot launch of USEUM Collectibles, an NFT platform that helps painters and illustrators from one end and aspiring NFT collectors from the other end, navigate the complex world of blockchain.
For our inaugural NFT, CHAOS, we are thrilled to collaborate with multi-award winning artist and digital illustration pioneer Steve Simpson. An artist in residence for the National Gallery of Ireland, Simpson is famous for his irrepressible visual style, while his internationally renowned projects range from 1 inch postage stamps to a 200 feet screen in Times Square.

CHAOS celebrates the dawn of the new Internet and the era of decentralisation. The inspiration behind this piece, i.e. the Theory of Chaos, widely known as the butterfly effect, demonstrates that a negligent change of input in a complex system today (i.e. the flap of a butterfly’s wings in the wind in Argentina) can have a thousand-fold impact a few days later (i.e. causing a tornado in Texas in three weeks). The Chaos Theory, whose mathematical formula is featured at the centre of the piece, challenged the status quo of physics (i.e. the “Cartesian universe”) at the time, greatly resembling the radical way in which the invention of blockchain is challenging today’s status quo.
Collectors will get the chance to meet Steve Simpson
Collectors can purchase the NFT using their debit or credit card, or using crypto. In addition to the NFT, collectors they will get:
