John Shelley

John Shelley began his illustration career in London. From 1987 he lived in Tokyo for over 20 years, where his work has been used in everything from advertising to character merchandising and editorial, while his children's book illustrations have been published in countries around the globe.

Most of his work is built on hand-drawn pen and ink images, finished in techniques from natural watercolour to digital.

With a presence in both Japan and the UK, he also maintains close ties with clients and organizations in the USA.

Member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI),
and Society of Authors (SOA).
