Simmondsia vitra  2008

by Patricia Van Lubeck

Oil on canvas, 120 x 80 cm [br]Simmondsia vitra is closely related to the Jojoba shrub (Simmondsia chinensis), pronounced “ho-HO-bah”. Jojoba is native to the Sonoran and Mojave deserts of Arizona, California, and Mexico. Simmondsia vitra however is primarily found in arid urban environments and produces an extremely toxic, oily substance. [url=http://www.vanlubeck.com/bl...
