  1. This painting belongs to the private collection of musician Madonna.
  2. Frida became Rivera's most trusted critic. His encouragement of her art was essential to her, and part of her impetus to paint came from her desire to please him. She was, he said, a better artist than he, and he loved to tell of Pablo Picasso's reaction to Frida's work. "Look at those eyes," Picasso is said to have written to Rivera, "neither you nor I are capable of anything like it."
