Leila the veiled priestess is in my depiction to be unveiled by Nadir and herself as it is Nadir who has pursued his love for the veiled woman and subsequently brought him to these shores where at long last finds Leila. There are three oyster shells with pearls that drape Nadir representing the three characters. The painting is an expression of love in its truest sense.
