Master of the Spes Nostra (Meester van der Spes Nostra ) is the term for an unidentified painter from the Northern Netherlands who was active around 1500. The painter is assumed to have worked in Haarlem, yet the cities of Gouda and Delft are also mentioned in relation to this artist. The notname refers to his only known work, previously known as Spes Nostra (Our Hope). The work presently bears the title Vier reguliere kanunniken van Sint Augustinus mediterend bij een open graf (Four regular canons of Saint August meditating at an opened grave), or Vier kanunniken met de heilige Augustinus en de heilige Hieronymus bij een geopend graf met de visitatie (Four canons with Saint Augustine and Saint Jerome at an opened grave with the visitation) or Allegorie op de vergankelijkheid (Allegory of transcendence).
